Virgin raises premium-class commission to 11% until April


VIRGINAtlantic is offering agents 11% commission for selling its two premium cabins.



From February 1 until April 30, Virgin will pay agents an additional 2% commission on top of the usual 9% for Upper Class and Premium Economy sales.



General manager global distribution and sales Charlie McKee said the extra payments were a one-off and agents would revert back to 9% commission after April 30.



The offer also applies to codeshare flights, including seats taken on Continental Airlines services to the US.



As an added incentive agents will be given ú100 if they are recommending Virgin during check calls from the carrier.



Guild of Business Travel Agents chairman Tony Hughes said: “We are absolutely delighted with the Virgin decision.”



n Continental is offering agents 15% commission on business class bookings for three months from February 1. It will pay the rate on Virgin codeshare flights.
