n Boulton takes vital carlson wagonlit role



Carlson Wagonlit has appointed Graham Boulton as vice-president operations Europe (north). Initially, Boulton will have responsibility for the UK, Scandinavia and Benelux but the role will be extended to cover Germany, Austria and Switzerland at the end of 1999.



n golden tulip adds to airline partnership list



Hotel consortium Golden Tulip has signed preferred partnership agreements with Philippine Airlines and Japan Airlines, bringing its number of airline partners to seven. It is the first time Golden Tulip has signed such an agreement in the Asia-Pacific region.



n strong pound lifts hong kong figures



The strong pound and special offers boosted UK visitor numbers to Hong Kong in December to 26,995, a 21% increase on the same month in 1997. But the total figure for UK visitors in 1998 was 325,738, a drop of4.3% on 1997.
