STARCruises is to start marketing two new ships in the UK this year.
At present, the Far East-based company sells cruises on SuperStar Gemini out of Singapore and Phuket, and on its new vessel SuperStar Leo out of Singapore. But from this September, a second new ship, SuperStar Virgo, will take on SuperStar Leo’s itinerary, which will be moved to Hong Kong.
A fourth ship, SuperStar Europe, which is currently on charter to Hapag-Lloyd, will start operating cruises out of Bangkok from October.
Star Cruises UK director of sales Michael Dupont said the company had nearly doubled its UK bookings to an estimated 20,800 in 1998, and was seeking a 50% booking rise from this year.
