CUSTOMER Belinda Wakeling is pictured making history for global distribution system Sabre, after walking into North America Travel Services’ London office and buying a London to Los Angeles trip for January 1, 2000. The booking was Sabre’s first British reservation made for the Millennium. Eric Speck, president of Sabre Travel Informationnetwork, said the GDS company was “thoroughly prepared” for 2000bookings, after successfully delivering year 2000-compliant desktop solutions and hardware to agents.
