COMPANY Barclaycard launched its lodge-card product at Business Travel ’99 after successfully testing it with six corporate clients.
The company claims the lodge card allows companies to create a central account with their business travel agent and bill travel payments through to an exclusive Company Barclaycard account number.
The card provider claimed its lodge card is unique in the UK because it can be integrated with individual travellers’ charge cards.
Company Barclaycard worked with BTIUK Hogg Robinson, Carlson Wagonlit Travel and Rosenbluth clients for the trial but is now hoping to sign up other agency partners who are interested in supplying the card to their clients.
However, Rick Elliott, senior manager responsible for strategic alliances, said it has set certain criteria. “We would not give a lodge card to an agent with a turnover less than £500,000 or for corporate clients with a spend of less than £100,000,” he said.
