Carnival gets puffed up over ship’s non-smoking restriction

CARNIVALis taking a hard line against passengers who light up secretly on its new non-smoking ship, Paradise.

Nine smokers have been slung off at the next port and forced to find their own way home since the ship’s launch on November 25.

No refunds are made for the part of the cruise they miss. And since January 10, the company has also introduced a $250 fine for anyone unfortunate enough to get caught smoking.

When you add it all up, that must make the cigarettes smoked on Paradise the most expensive in the world.

“Why do people do it?” wonders Backchat’s source at Carnival. “If you are a smoker, a non-smoking ship you can’t get off must be the worst place to be.”

Clearly a taste of Paradise isn’t worth more than a puff.
