LUFTHANSA and Star Alliance partner SAS are set to follow British Airways by cutting commission to 7%.
The two carriers are expected to make the announcement this week after BA confirmed it was axeing its Performance Reward Scheme.
KLM UK said BA’s move to scrap PRS will not affect its own payment programme.
However, director of passenger sales Peter Cornwall said the 9.5% international rate is set to be scrapped in the summer to leave agents with a basic 7% rising to 10%.
British Midland expects to keep its 9% commission through the summer while Virgin Atlantic said it would not make changes.
