HOLIDAY Autos claims dropping its Price Beaters promise to undercut rivals’ rates by ú5 in its brochure launched last month has not resulted in a drop off in sales.
The rental broker now offers to match any published competitors’ price and reports business for summer 1999 up over 60% on the same time last year.
Managing director, UK and Ireland, Tony Seaman said: “Undercutting rivals was a unique marketing ploy when we introduced it 12 years ago but now everyone has some form of price guarantee.
“We found we were spending millions promoting it when all our big clients really wanted was peace of mind and good service at a competitive price,” he added.
