AIRTOURS has shut Jetset’s central London Teletext operation, Jetset Connections, making 15 redundancies.
In addition, Jetset managing director John Bond has had his role changed and Glasgow-based marketing manager Roddie MacPhee has been made redundant in a management shake-up.
Airtours UKLG director Matthew Cheetham said: “Jetset Connections was losing money. We also needed to restructure the operator’s management team.”
Bond has been appointed aviation buyer for Tradewinds, Jetset and Flightdeck, based in Enfield. He will not be replaced as MD but Tradewinds aviation manager Chris Townson has been appointed general manager of Jetset, reporting to Cheetham.
The product and buying division of Jetset and Tradewinds are being merged into the UKLG scheduled long-haul tour-operating division. Tradewinds deputy MDRobbie Orr will run the division.
Jetset will appoint a Manchester-based marketing manager following the departure of MacPhee.
