Shake-up at Airtours’ retail division
GOING Places managing director Terry Fisher is rumoured to be taking on a new role as part of a shake-up of Airtours’ retail division.Fisher has axed 110 head-office staff and cut costs during a controversial seven-month reign.
In addition, the sales teams of Going Places and Travelworld are expected to be merged, with Travelworld MDTrevor Davis becoming sales director of the enlarged group.
The changes were due to be announced as Travel Weekly went to press but Airtours and Going Places declined to comment.
