Eurotunnel spends £2m on Folkestone terminal upgrade

EUROTUNNEL’S Folkestone terminal is offering a new range of shops and food outlets in a £2m redevelopment.

The changes follow months of research by airport operator BAA, which took over the contract to run the terminal last year.

Dixons, XS Music and Video shops, Burger King and Little Chef Express are new. The food seating area has been doubled to 300 chairs, with seating also available outside.

BAA commercial director Paul Webber said the project was jointly funded by Eurotunnel, BAA and the retail outlets. BAA has also introduced a preorder service that allows passengers to order alcohol or tobacco over the Internet. It can then be collected at the Calais/Coquelles terminal.
