Panorama adds Madeira for 2001
PANORAMA Holidays has introduced the winter destination of Madeira as a summer sun option for 2001.The Portuguese island is featured in Panorama’s Summer Sun 2001 brochure.
Panorama sales and marketing director Martin Young said:”Madeira is a winter market, two-thirds of visitors go there in the winter months. But our winter programme has grown so we decided to add it as a summer destination.
“It is a different client who goes to Madeira during the winter months but the summer client is roughly of the same age and profile. Clients are more mature and generally are not families.Madeira does not have beaches so is not a family destination.”
The operator has also added more capacity in the Canaries, at the expense of the Balearics where companies are fighting for limited bed space. Four new properties have been added in Lanzarote, two in Tenerife, two in Gran Canaria and one in Fuerteventura.
In a bid to expand its share of the early-bookings market, Panorama has introduced £100 discounts for clients who book before the end of July. It is also guaranteeing free children’s places on bookings made by the same deadline.
