Aer Lingus’ Manchester-Orlando service takes off

Aer Lingus celebrated the launch of its first direct flight from Manchester airport to Orlando on Saturday (December 11).

Characters from the Universal Studios theme park in Orlando joined passengers and airline staff at check-in to mark the inaugural flight.

Operated by an Airbus A330, the Orlando link is the third route launched by Aer Lingus UK as part of its new services from Manchester airport direct to the US and the Caribbean.

The carrier launched direct flights from Manchester to Barbados on October 20 and to New York, JFK on December 1.

There are four weekly flights to Orlando, with fares starting from £209 each way (including taxes and charges), departing each day at 11:00 on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
