Air Canada resumes London-Mumbai flights

Air Canada has resumed a seasonal connection between Heathrow and Mumbai.

The fifth freedom route is part of a daily link between Toronto and the Indian city via the London hub.

Flights will run throughout the winter until March 29, 2024 using 298-passenger Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft in a three class configuration.

The airline recently announced an increase to four daily services between Toronto and London for next summer, six weekly frequencies to Manchester, as well as an earlier seasonal start for an Edinburgh service on March 1, 2024, operating until January 2025.

UK and Ireland general manager Stephen Gerrard said: “We are delighted to resume our non-stop fifth freedom service between London Heathrow and India’s city of dreams, Mumbai.

“Mumbai is one of the top destinations worldwide, renowned for its historical monuments and rich culture.

“Our customers in the United Kingdom will benefit from more travel choice and convenience while travelling for business, leisure or visiting friends and family.”

Air Canada also offers non-stop year-round flights from Heathrow to Toronto, Vancouver, Montreal, Calgary and Halifax and between Dublin and Toronto, as well as non-stop summer seasonal services from Edinburgh and Manchester to Toronto, and from Dublin to Vancouver and Montreal.

The announcement came as Heathrow confirmed 11 new routes as part of the winter schedule which started on Sunday.
