Airport click and collect Covid tests introduced for inbound travellers

A click and collect Covid lateral flow test has been introduced for fully-vaccinated international travellers coming to the UK.

The Cignpost ExpressTest option, costing £19.99, means that international travellers do not have to rely on their arrivals test being delivered to a hotel or temporary address.

Tests can be pre-ordered and collected at Heathrow, Gatwick, Birmingham and Edinburgh airports.

The company claims results are confirmed in 25 minutes and authenticated when the customer uploads a photograph of their test and passport number to the ExpressTest app.

The image is then checked by a dedicated member of staff and official proof of status sent within 60 minutes during hours of operation, which have been extended from 8am to 11.59pm each day.

Cignpost ExpressTest chief executive Christian Corney said: “Since the government has made lateral flow tests mandatory for everyone arriving into the UK, we have looked at how we can make the testing process easy at every level.

“There’s a £1,000 fine for anyone who misses the two-day deadline to complete their test, so launching a click and collect option gives international travellers the reassurance that they’ve met their Covid testing requirement, rather than worrying about whether their tests have arrived at the hotel or guesthouse they are staying in.”
