Croatia will require visitors from the UK to have a negative Covid-19 test result before they arrive, because of rising infection rates.
The new, additional entry rule also applies to those coming from Cyprus and the Russian Federation “due to the worsening of epidemiological situations” in the three countries.
It comes into effect on Monday (July 26).
The Croatian National Tourist official said: “A negative SARS-CoV-2 test performed in the home country is required before entering the territory of the Republic of Croatia, regardless of vaccination status or recovery from COVID-19 disease.
“Travellers can opt for either an antigen test, not older than 48 hours, or a PCR test not older than 72 hours.”
The antigen test needs to be from the European Union list of mutually recognised tests.

Travellers from the UK are required to also fill out a form with their details and have proof of paid accommodation booking.
Children under the age of 12 are exempt from having to test if they are travelling with a parent/guardian who has proof of a negative test.
Croatia has been on the British government’s green list since Monday (July 19) meaning travellers do not have to isolate on their return to the UK.
