Best-selling author and journalist Oliver Burkeman is to speak at Abta’s Travel Convention in Bodrum this autumn.
Burkeman’s books include Four Thousand Weeks, Time and How to Use It,The Antidote:Happiness for People Who Can’t Stand Positive and Help! How to Become Slightly Happier and Get a Bit More Done.
He previously wrote a popular weekly column for The Guardian called This Column Will Change Your Life and has presented programmes for BBC Radio 4 including Oliver Burkeman is Busy, Why Are We So Angry? and Living with the News.
Announcing his appearance at the event, which takes place at the Lujo Hotel from October 30 to November 1, convention organisers said Burkeman has “a devoted following for his writing on productivity, mortality, the power of limits, and building a meaningful life in an age of bewilderment.”
This year’s convention will be themed ‘Unleashing new potential’, with a focus on the challenges and opportunities facing business leaders in the industry.
Early bird fees are available until mid-July, with rates set at £650 for Abta members and the first Abta partner to register, and £750 for additional Abta partners and other delegates. There is a companion fee of £215 for those not attending as delegates.
Headline partners for this year’s convention are Avis Budget Group, Global, Intrepid Travel, Royal Caribbean International and Universal Partners, while Travel Weekly will once again be trade media partner.
