Children on Tunisian package trips avoid isolation rule

Under-18s visiting Tunisia on a package holiday trip with vaccinated adults do not have to isolate when they arrive, according to the country’s tourist board.

A statement from the Tunisian National Tourist Office UK & Ireland said: “We officially confirm that children under 18 years old are exempt from self-isolating when travelling with vaccinated adults on packaged holiday trip to Tunisia.

“This is not applicable for children under 18 years of age travelling with unvaccinated adults or on flight only (not within packaged tour holiday).

“Tourists must always follow the rules of the implemented Covid Health protocol in Tunisia as well as within hotels where they’re staying at.”

The UK Foreign Office (FCDO) advice for Tunisia does not currently specify differences for package and non-package trips.

It says fully-jabbed travellers must present evidence of vaccinations and must take a PCR test less than 72 hours before travel, though this does not apply to under 12s.

Non-vaccinated adults are subject to mandatory quarantine in a government-approved hotel for seven days, the FCDO says. However, it says under 18s are exempt.
