The Cook Islands has dropped its Covid vaccination entry requirements.
The rules, which applied to travel and entry by aircraft and sea, have not been required since September 6.
The news comes as airlift to the islands increases. The Cook Islands opened its borders to international visitors in May and last month Air Rarotonga launched its new route from Rarotonga to Pape’ete (PPT).
The decision follows similar moves by other destinations worldwide, including Saint Lucia, St Helena, Belize and Malta.
It follows the launch of a new campaign, Love a Little Paradise for Real, by the Cook Islands to attract visitors, with a focus on helping the trade to sell the destination.
The destination in the South Pacific is located between New Zealand and Hawaii and is often described as being like Hawaii was 50 years ago. It offers a year-round tropical climate, beaches and jungle, and had no big chain restaurants or hotels.
