Discover Egypt adds Makadi Bay to 2024-2025 programme

Discover Egypt has added the Red Sea Riviera resort of Makadi Bay to its Egypt & Jordan 2024-2025 programme.

The resort is in addition to Hurghada, Marsa Alam and Soma Bay, all featured in the new brochure, which also offers Nile cruises, a deluxe Lake Nasser cruise, and stays in Cairo, Aswan and Luxor.

Accommodation in Makadi Bay is offered at the Fort Arabesque Resort Spa and Villas (pictured), one of six luxury resort hotels featured by the operator on the Red Sea Riviera. Another is the five-star plus Baron Palace Resort Sahl Hasheesh in Sahl Hasheesh Bay, 20km from Hurghada.

Also new to the programme is a 16-day Spectacular Egypt and Jordan tour which includes a seven-night Nile cruise and gives the opportunity to see highlights of both countries on one holiday.

Other tours include a seven-day private escorted Classic Jordan tour, which visits the ruined city of Petra, Wadi Rum and the Dead Sea, and includes a stay in the capital Amman.

The brochure highlights seven night Nile cruises on the deluxe five-star Alexander the Great ship, new for this year, as well as on the five-star MS Tulip and deluxe all-suite Sonesta Star Goddess. The cruises lead in at £1,839.

Other highlights include a five-day Lake Nasser cruise on deluxe five-star Steigenberger Omar El Khayam ship; stays in the Marriott Mena House in Cairo, overlooking the pyramids, the historic Sofitel Old Winter Palace in Luxor, and Sofitel Legend Old Cataract hotel in Aswan, where past guests have included Sir Winston Churchill and Dame Agatha Christie.

Excursions which can be prebooked in each city include a full day Pyramids, Sphinx and Sakkara tour in Cairo, added to the programme for this year, and a half-day West Bank tour to see the Valley of the Kings in Luxor.

Discover Egypt commercial director Philip Breckner said: “We’re excited to launch our new brochure which features a comprehensive choice of great-value holidays to Egypt and Jordan to suit most tastes and budgets.

“From city stays to beach resorts, Nile cruises to escorted tours all our itineraries are flexible and can be tailored to individual requirements.

“We pride ourselves on our first-hand knowledge and experience which we have built up over four decades and can offer travel agents unrivalled advice to ensure their clients have the holiday of a lifetime to these magical destinations in 2024 and 2025.”
