Emirates ramps up Heathrow-Dubai capacity for winter

Emirates is boosting capacity between Heathrow and Dubai this winter.

An additional five flights a week will run between October 31 and March 30 next year.

The Gulf carrier currently operates six daily Airbus A380 superjumbo flights from Heathrow.

Additional frequencies will be added on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays using smaller three-class Boeing 777-300ER aircraft.

The airline said: “This temporary service will meet market demand during the busy winter season and offer customers more travel choices.”

UK divisional vice president Richard Jewsbury added: “As we gear up to the peak travel season this winter, we’re pleased to offer customers enhanced connectivity to Dubai and onwards to popular destinations such as India, the Maldives, Bali and Australia.

“We continue to see sustained market demand across our network and look forward to welcoming our customers from London and the surrounding region onboard Emirates.”

The airline currently serves the UK with 126 flights week following the resumption of an A380 service to Birmingham and Glasgow, double daily frequency to Stansted, and enhanced services to Newcastle and Gatwick.
