Enter Air reports busiest summer in six years flying for UK tour operators

A Polish charter airline which provides flights for specialist tour operators from Gatwick has reported its busiest summer from the UK in six years.

Enter Air operated a total fleet of 35 aircraft across Europe after adding three Boeing 737 Max 8s and leasing in three Airbus A320s and one A319 from Swiss carrier Chair Airlines in which it holds a 49% stake.

UK representative Carl Denton, managing director of, Sven Carlson Aviation Consulting, said: “As we draw close to the conclusion of another successful Gatwick-based summer operation, the busiest since 2017, plans turn to our Lapland charters during the winter followed [by] our expectation to operate once again from Gatwick next summer.

“With attractive schedules and cleared slots at Gatwick we look forward to working again with our long established tour operator partners.”

In first half results, the airline confirmed that planning holidays abroad returned to normal after the end of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Enter Air returned to net profit of £14 million in the six months, recovering from a loss of £19 million in the same period in 2022.

Management board member Grzegorz Polaniecki said: “Interestingly, more people are now opting for international travel beyond the traditional vacation periods.

“The dynamically growing demand for our services has led to record contracts with long-standing partners and allowed us to expand our fleet by three aircraft even before the summer season began.

“As we present our financial results for the first half, operationally, we’re concluding an exceptionally busy summer season during which we flew more than ever in our multi-year history.

“At its peak, we had 35 aircraft at our disposal. Looking ahead, while we aim for further growth, a key factor we consider when ordering additional aircraft is their utilisation during the low season and optimal fleet management in winter.”
