A strike by pilots has forced Finnair to cancel at least 300 flights next month.
The airline confirmed that industrial action by the Finnish Air Line Pilots’ Association would impact services on December 9 and 13.
“The strike will disrupt Finnair’s operations and force Finnair to cancel approximately 300 flights in total on the 9th and 13th of December,” the carrier said.
“It will also impact some individual flights in the days before and after the strike days.”
Finnair also warned that its customer service operation is “currently congested, and we are working hard to help you in this exceptional situation”.
In an alert to affected passengers on its website, the airline said: “We will do our best to reroute you to your destination as soon as possible. However, as the availability of alternative flights is limited, rerouting may take time.
“If you booked your ticket through a travel agency or a tour operator, please contact them to make changes to your reservation or to apply for a refund, as Finnair customer service is unable to proceed with your refund request on their behalf.
“We are sorry for the inconvenience and uncertainty this situation may cause you.”
