Hans Airways starts recruitment drive ahead of India flights launch

UK start-up long-haul airline Hans Airways is starting a recruitment drive for flight crew.

The move comes as the carrier moves towards gaining its UK Air Operator Certificate (AOC) later this year to start serving India.

Swiss company Resource Group is using its UK arm ContractAir to work alongside Hans Airways in hiring the captains, first officers and training captains for its planned fleet of widebody Airbus A330-200s.

Flight operations and crew training director Nathan Burkitt said: “This recruitment agreement is a well-timed development as we prepare to launch our direct non-stop flights to India later in 2021.

“It will allow the leadership team to focus on our launch preparations while at the same time filling the essential flight crew roles that we need.

“Resource Group brings decades of invaluable experience in this field, having worked with the likes of British Airways, Virgin Atlantic and easyJet, to name but a few of their other airline partners.”

He added: “We are getting ready for our proving flight in October as part of the process to obtain Hans Airways’ AOC.

“We have determined a planned launch date internally, and we will make an announcement once all regulatory requirements are complete.”

The deal with Resource Group follows agreements with cargo general sales and service agent Air Logistics Group in July.
