Jet2 adds Rome capacity for Six Nations rugby championship

Jet2.com and sister brand Jet2CityBreaks have added flights and city breaks to Rome in February and March 2022, when the Italian capital will host the Six Nations rugby championship.

The brands said the extra capacity was thanks to “strong demand” from rugby fans looking to attend matches during the annual international tournament.

Extra flights and city breaks are available from Birmingham, Manchester and Glasgow to Fiumicino airport in Rome.

They are timed to cater for those looking to watch England vs Italy on February 13, 2022, and Scotland vs Italy on March 12, 2022.

Steve Heapy, chief executive of Jet2.com and Jet2holidays, said: “We’ve all missed being able to watch live sport, so it’s no surprise that we are seeing strong demand from customers looking to see England and Scotland play in the Six Nations Championship in Rome.

“With the Six Nations being a highlight in the sporting calendar, it’s one rugby fans will want to experience live and not miss out on.”

Across winter 2021-22, Jet2.com and Jet2Citybreaks will be offering flights and city breaks in Rome from five UK bases: Birmingham, Glasgow, Leeds Bradford, Manchester and Newcastle.
