Jet2.com and Jet2holidays have brought forward their launch date from Bournemouth airport by two months in response to high demand.
The original plan was to start operating flights and holidays for the summer season from April 1, 2025, but the brands have now decided to launch on February 4, 2025, with winter sun trips to the Canary Islands.
Steve Heapy, chief executive of Jet2.com and Jet2holidays, said: “We know that local holidaymakers cannot wait for us to launch from Bournemouth airport, so we have shortened how long they have to wait.”

Flights to Tenerife will operate three times a week (Tuesday, Friday and Saturday) from February 4, 2025, while the Lanzarote route will operate twice a week (Monday and Thursday) from February 6, 2025. There will be a weekly Sunday service to Gran Canaria operating from February 9, 2025. All of the new flights will run year-round.
The summer programme, beginning in April, 2025, will feature 16 destinations across Europe, the Canary Islands and the Mediterranean.
Jet2.com and Jet2holidays will operate up to 27 weekly flights, including multiple weekly flights to popular destinations across the Canary Islands, Balearic Islands, Turkey and Greece as well as services to mainland Spain, Portugal and Madeira. Two destinations – Fuerteventura and Madeira – are exclusive from Bournemouth airport.
Since Bournemouth was confirmed as Jet2.com and Jet2holidays’ new base in March, the companies have recorded strong demand.
Heapy said: “It is very clear just how much customers and independent travel agents are looking forward to enjoying our award-winning flights and holidays from Bournemouth airport, with the response exceeding all expectations.”
He added: “We cannot wait to get started, our plans are progressing brilliantly, and we are counting down the days until we can delight customers with our industry-leading service.”
Bournemouth airport managing director Steve Gill said: “This is fantastic news for passengers – not only are Jet2.com and Jet2holidays bringing the launch of their flights and holidays forward by two months, but these flights to the Canaries will operate year-round. That means even more choice for local holidaymakers from Bournemouth airport.”
