Jet2 reports strong demand over festive period

Jet2holidays and sister airline Jet2.com have reported a spike in bookings over the festive period, including an increase in sales made on Christmas Day.

The companies credited the rise to the launch of a sale on Christmas Eve, with “thousands” of seats booked on Christmas Day and strong demand on Boxing Day.

The sale offers £90 per person off holidays departing before November 15, 2026, with additional discounts for those with a myJet2 account. The discounts are available on both direct bookings and those made through agents.

The operators said established destinations seeing strong demand included the Canary and Balearic Islands, mainland Spain, Greece, Cyprus and Turkey, while other destinations performing well include Italy, Malta, Croatia, Montenegro, Bulgaria, Morocco and Portugal.

Leading city break destinations include Athens, Porto, Krakow, Rome, Prague, Budapest and Barcelona.

Steve Heapy, chief executive of Jet2.com and Jet2holidays said: “Boxing Day is traditionally when the peak holiday booking period has started, but we saw the bookings rush start earlier this year – with Christmas Eve onwards proving to be extremely popular, and Christmas Day itself seeing a bumper number of bookings.

“With everything that happens on Christmas Day, it is fantastic to see so many people booking their holidays in between opening the presents and having their Christmas dinners.”

Heapy added: “We expect [strong booking momentum] to continue into the New Year as customers look to get their holiday locked in.”
