Jet2.com and Jet2holidays has pledged a better airport experience by taking its baggage handling and ramp services in house at Bristol and Newcastle airports.
Both bases now include a dedicated ramp-handling team including ramp agents and baggage loaders.
They are responsible for ensuring that flights depart safely and on time as part of the organisation of ground operations.
The carrier and in-house tour operation will serve 36 destinations from Newcastle this summer and is basing a seven aircraft at Bristol as Malaga and Chania in Crete are added to the flying programme.
The sister companies now self-handle at Birmingham, Bristol, East Midlands, Leeds Bradford, Manchester, Newcastle and Stansted airports.
Chief executive Steve Heapy said: “Today’s announcement represents a significant investment in our operation and we know it will deliver an even better end-to-end experience for our customers at both bases.
