Manchester Airports Group (MAG) claims to be “well-placed” for a strong summer holiday season after reporting higher June passenger numbers.
The group’s three airports – Mancherster, Stansted (pictured) and East Midlands – handled 7% more passengers at 6.3 million over the same month last year.
Rolling 12-month traffic figures show that the group saw throughput of 62.6 million passengers in the year to June.

Manchester and Stansted continued to have record breaking months.
Volumes at Manchester airport rose 6.7% year-on-year to three million passengers.
Stansted’s numbers were up by 8.3% to 2.8 million passengers.
East Midlands airport served more than 500,000 passengers across June, up 3.1% year-on-year.
All passengers at East Midlands airport passed through security in 15 minutes or less, with the figure standing at 97% at both Manchester and Stansted.
Nine out of 10 passengers rated their experience as ‘excellent’, ‘very good’, or ‘good’ when using MAG airports in the first half of there year,.
MAG handled 61.3 million passengers in the financial year to March 31 and achieved revenues of £1.2 billion, annual results published last week showed.
