Specialist operator Ski Scandinavia has doubled the capacity of charter flights to the country this winter.
Selected Saturday services will operate from Gatwick from February 11 until April 25 to Scandinavian Mountains airport serving the Salen ski area close to the Norwegian border following trial flights last winter.
The operator is now working on potential scheduled flights for winter 2023-24.
Scandinavian Mountains airport chief executive Gunnar Lenman said: “We’re delighted to announce these charters and our partnership with Ski Scandinavia.
“This will be a key sector for us in the future and it will be very interesting to see how Londoners respond to this opportunity to fly direct to us, since we know they love our beautiful mountains, snow and winter sports.
“The population base and the potential offered by the London area, combined with uniquely short transfer times to the ski resorts and a first class, family alpine skiing product, give us a really good starting point.”
Ski Scandinavia managing director Ben Nyberg added: “We are delighted to see the resorts in this incredible ski region come together with us to promote holidays for UK guests.
“As well as being the most easily accessed ski region in Europe with a great range of skiing for all abilities, our local suppliers and partners offer our guests world leading hospitality making the region the most welcoming and friendliest place to ski anywhere.”
