SkyAlps offers flights from Stansted to Bolzano for ski season

Italian airline SkyAlps will start flying from Stansted to Bolzano this winter to give skiers quicker access to the Trentino slopes.

The service will operate on Wednesdays and Sundays from December 13.

SkyAlps said travellers would be able to reach the ski resorts of Val di Fassa in around an hour, which is three hours quicker than the route from Milan airport.

Prices for a single fare start at £160, SkyAlps said.

The airline operates a fleet of six aircraft – all Dash DHC-8-Q400s – capable of carrying up to 76 passengers.

SkyAlps said: “The Dash DHC-8 Q400 aircraft is a highly efficient turboprop-powered aircraft that can complete short journeys almost as quickly as a regional turbojet, but with lower emissions as well as less noise during take-off and landing.”
