South of France packages introduced by Jet2holidays

Jet2holidays is to introduce package holidays to the south of France for the first time this summer.

The development comes ahead of sister airline Jet2.com marking the 20th anniversary of flights to Nice.

Four new resorts in the region have been put on sale in Menton, Antibes, Saint Raphael and Villefranche sur Mer in addition to Cannes.

City breaks to Nice and Monte Carlo are also being offered across more than 25 hotels.

Jet2.com has more than doubled its flying programme to Nice, after adding services from Birmingham, Leeds Bradford and Manchester airports for this summer, with more than 60,000 seats on sale across its programme.

The airline will add flights from Stansted to Nice in summer 2024.

The carrier’s first flight to Nice from Leeds Bradford airport landed on April 8, 2003.

Chief executive Steve Heapy said: “In addition to the launch of package holidays, we have also expanded our flying programme to Nice for summer ’23 and put on a bigger selection of hotels to the famous city break destination of Monte Carlo, in response to customers flocking to book.

“We are confident that the launch of package holidays to the south of France and the expansion of our Nice programme will be popular with both customers and independent travel agents.”

Gwenaelle Delos, managing sirector of Atout France in London, added: “We are delighted with the significant growth in Jet2holidays’ offering in the south of France.

“France remains a top destination for British travellers, and we are thrilled to welcome more and more of them.

“With ever-present sunshine, a wealth of multi-seasonal activities – arts and garden festivals, Picasso celebrations, outdoor & seaside adventures – and a series of highlights including the Rugby World Cup in September, Nice and the Cote d’Azur invite visitors to travel all year round.

“This new Jet2holidays offer only reinforces our joint efforts and objectives to promote France as a vibrant tourism destination.”
