Sustainability and staff wellbeing to be recognised at Globe Travel Awards

Two new categories have been introduced for the 2023 Travel Weekly Globe Travel Awards to recognise commitment to sustainability and staff wellbeing.

The Employer of the Year and Sustainable Future awards are open for entry to any supplier selling product through the trade and will be presented as the Globes return to their traditional date on January 12, 2023.

The recognition of excellence in the two fields for travel suppliers follows the introduction of similar categories for travel agents and agencies at July’s Travel Weekly Agent Achievement Awards.

The Globe Travel Awards will take place at London’s Grosvenor House Hotel, with nominations now open for agents to put forward suppliers and destinations for recognition in 32 sector awards.

Further awards will be presented to an unsung hero of the industry and for outstanding achievement in travel, with nominations now open for both suppliers and agents to be put forward for recognition.

Lucy Huxley, editor-in-chief of Travel Weekly Group, said: “For 45 years, the Globe Travel Awards have honoured the cream of the travel industry, and after postponements and date changes due to the Covid pandemic, I am delighted we will be returning to our traditional January date for the 2023 ceremony.

“As always, we are incredibly grateful to the travel agent readers of Travel Weekly who submit thousands of nominations and votes for their top suppliers, and I would urge all companies selling through the trade to consider entering our new awards, which reflect two areas of paramount importance for the future of our industry.”
