Sweden has tightened its entry requirements so that all travellers aged 12 years of age or older must show proof of a negative Covid-19 test, regardless of their vaccination status.
The test can be a PCR or antigen version and must be taken within 48 hours before arrival in Sweden.
The new rule comes into effect from December 28.
Earlier this month, it introduced a new recommendation for visitors to test for Covid-19 as soon as possible after arriving in Sweden.
The Public Health Agency of Sweden had requested that the Swedish government take further measures regarding foreign citizens travelling to Sweden.
More details about Sweden’s Covid-19 requirements are available from the UK Foreign Office website, the tourist board and the website of the Public Health Agency of Sweden.
The tighter restrictions come as countries across Europe and further afield impose curbs on travellers to tackle the rising tide of Omicron infections.
