Travel test firm offers refunds after delays

A travel testing company has offered full refunds to passengers left at risk of fines, the Telegraph has reported.

The newspaper said the refunds have been offered after it exposed ‘poor service’ at Eurofins.

It reported: “Eurofins, hailed by ministers as one of the cheapest private providers on offer, has written to angry customers who missed flights, were unable to return to work or left out of pocket after delays in arrival of their tests or results.”

The report said Eurofins has been offering a single test for £44.90, and the firm would be offering a refund to anyone who no longer required a kit.

“It had to suspend sales of the kits over the weekend after running out of stocks, but is understood to have now resolved the problems,” added the Telegraph.

The newspaper said Eurofins is at least the second test provider to have had to suspend sales after running out of Covid test supplies.

“001Doctor.uk, which faced similar complaints from customers, has also paused taking new orders after facing “exceptional” demand,” added the newspaper.
