Tui holidays to Sri Lanka will continue to be cancelled until the end of the month.
The latest extension was announced yesterday (Wednesday) due to the ongoing political and economic instability in Sri Lanka.
It comes as the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) continues to advise against all but essential travel to the Indian Ocean island.
“As a result, we’ve unfortunately had to cancel all holidays to Sri Lanka departing up to and including 31 August 2022,” the operator said.
The programme to the country had been previously been cancelled until August 22.
Tui started holiday cancellations to Sri Lanka in May and has progressively extended the ban amid mass unrest in the country over its ongoing economic crisis.
“We will be proactively contacting all impacted customers in departure date order to discuss their options,” the company said.
“Please note this advice does not apply to customers transiting through Sri Lanka’s international airport.
“We will continue to monitor the situation and update customers should there be any further updates.”
