A suspension of holidays to Sri Lanka has been further extended into next month by Tui.
The operator has cancelled its programme to the strive-form Indian Ocean island until August 15.
The latest extension of the cancellation of holidays is in response to ongoing Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) advice against all but essential travel to Sri Lanka due to political and economic instability in the country.
“As a result, we’ve unfortunately had to cancel all holidays to Sri Lanka departing up to and including 15 August 2022,” Tui said.
“We will be proactively contacting all impacted customers in departure date order to discuss their options.”
Tui started holiday cancellations to Sri Lanka in May and has progressively extended the ban amid mass unrest in the country over its deepening economic crisis.
A state of emergency declared last week is still in place.
