More travel freedoms between the UK and the Gulf region have been confirmed by transport secretary Grant Shapps.
He tweeted that the UK will be accepting United Arab Emirates vaccination certificates from October 4.
The change follows updates to the UAE’s vaccination app and was touted by Shapps earlier in the week.
Shapps said: “As a major transport hub which is home to many British expats, this is great news for reopening international travel, boosting business and reuniting families.”
The measure will be seen as helping the recovery of travel to and from Dubai and Abu Dhabi, the hubs for Emirates and Etihad Airways respectively.
