Low-cost carrier Vueling launched its first service from Newcastle to Paris Orly airport on Thursday (November 4).
The Spanish airline, part of International Airlines Group (IAG) which also owns British Airways, Aer Lingus and Iberia, announced the route last month.
It will operate flights on Thursdays and Sundays until the end of March 2022, with fares starting from £30.99 one way.
Charlotte Dumesnil, Vueling’s director of sales, distribution and alliances, said: “The desire to travel is still present and we are prepared to offer our customers new popular destinations, for both holidaymakers and business passengers, as well as great value fares.”
Leon McQuaid, head of aviation development at Newcastle airport, added: “The start of Vueling’s flights to Paris today further enhances the region’s connectivity and adds even more flights to this major European city from the Airport.
“A city break to Paris should be on everyone’s bucket list and with flights every Thursday and Sunday, Vueling’s schedule lends itself for passengers wishing to enjoy a long weekend in this stunning French city.”
Flights depart Newcastle at 08:15, arriving in Paris at 11:00. On the return leg, flights depart Paris Orly at 06:55 arriving at Newcastle at 07:30.
• Vueling has also launched its first route from Belfast International airport to Paris Orly.
