‘Wings clipped’ in minor incident at Heathrow

A minor collision between two aircraft on the ground at Heathrow is to be subject of an investigation.

The incident involved Korean Air and Icelandair aircraft on Wednesday evening.

One was reported to have clipped the wing of the other while taxiing.

Passengers were being asked to check the status of their flights.

Emergency services attended the scene but no injuries were  reported.

Dan Sabbagh, the Guardian’s defence and security editor, was among the passengers on the Korean Air flight to Seoul and posted a photograph of about 10 police cars and two fire engines by the plane.

He said passengers deboarded the aircraft for safety reasons.
