Wizz Air passenger numbers grew by 160% to almost three million last month over October 2020.
The improvement came as the European low cost carrier continued to expand its network following the pandemic.
The airline achieved a load factor of 79.5%, up 13.6 percentage points year-on-year.
However, passenger carryings for the rolling 12 months to October 31 of 18 million represented a decline of 17.5%.
Wizz Air’s October carryings compared with 11.3 million people flown by rival Ryanair in the month.
The carrier announced the opening of its seventh Italian base, at Venice Marco Polo airport, with two Airbus A321neo aircraft and of four new domestic services and 12 international routes.
Wizz Air is also doubling capacity from Ukraine and adding a route to Moscow from Abu Dhabi from December.
