Wizz Air requires crew Covid vaccinations

Wizz Air will require all crew to be vaccinated against Covid-19.

Jabs – or regular antigen/PCR testing in special cases – for all crew will be required by December 1.

The budget airline is implementing the policy to protect the health and safety of its passengers and crew, “as well as to supporting smooth and continued operations of its flights in the long term”.

The carrier said: “As the pandemic continues, Wizz Air is among the first European airlines to further enhance its protective measures with this policy, which will be implemented in line with the support of local authorities and health institutions across Wizz Air’s bases.

“As governments increasingly mandate evidence of vaccinations for crews as part of national entry requirements, Covid-19 vaccinated crews are becoming more and more critical.”

Group chief executive Jozsef Varadi said: “Our number one priority is the health and safety of our passengers and employees.

“We have a responsibility to protect crew and passengers on board by mitigating the risks of Covid-19, and vaccines play a vital role in this.”
