Corporate travel specialist ceases trading

Sheffield-based business travel specialist Kanoo Travel Ltd has ceased trading, Abta has confirmed.

According to accounts filed in August 2020 for the year ending December 31, 2019, the company operated 16 offices across the UK, with seven offering travel and foreign exchange services and the remaining nine operating as foreign exchange bureaux.

A statement on the Abta website said: “We are sorry to inform you that Kanoo Travel Ltd has ceased trading with effect from 30 June 2021.

“The majority of travel arrangements booked by Kanoo Travel Ltd were for business travel. The company also sold retail leisure and some scheduled airline tickets under its Iata licence.”

The statement added: “If you were a corporate client of Kanoo Travel Ltd these sales were not protected with Abta and you will need to contact the airline directly to check if your booking is still available.

“If you booked a package holiday through Kanoo Travel Ltd and the holiday is provided by another tour operator, you will need to contact the tour operator named on your paperwork or Atol Certificate for a flight inclusive package.

“If you booked a flight-only with Kanoo Travel Ltd and were issued with a ticket or e-ticket, you will need to contact the airline that you are due to be travel with to ensure your booking will go ahead.”

Customers requiring further assistance are advised to contact 020 3758 8730 or email claimsrequest@abta.co.uk.

The liquidation is being overseen by Quantuma.
