Cunard has unveiled the name of its new 3,000-passenger ship ahead of its launch in 2024.
The ship’s name, Queen Anne, was revealed on Cunard’s YouTube channel today. Its debut programme will go on sale in May.
Queen Anne will be delivered to the line in Monfalcone, Italy, once shipbuilding firm Fincantieri has completed the project.
The line said Queen Anne’s “décor will reveal bold colour tones and showcase a striking aesthetic, while in keeping with the renowned timeless Cunard sophistication”.
Fincantieri also built Queen Victoria in 2007 and Queen Elizabeth in 2010. The line also offers sailings on Queen Mary 2.
Once Queen Anne enters service it will be first time since 1999 that there will be four ships in Cunard’s fleet.
Former Cunard president Simon Palethorpe previously said the new 249th Cunarder vessel would be “a blend” of the “most popular” design elements of the existing ships with “a forward looking, modern take”.
At the vessel’s steel-cutting ceremony in 2019, Palethorpe also confirmed there would be a mix of familiar venues as well as new ones on Queen Anne.
Palethorpe was replaced as Carnival UK chief by Sture Myrmell last year.
