Windstar Cruises has launched a second solar eclipse sailing for August 2026 after its first sold out.
The 148-passenger Wind Spirit will complete a seven-night Mediterranean Sunset Eclipse cruise departing from Rome on August 6, 2026, with fares leading in at £4,568 including all meals, soft drinks and port fees.
The ship will be positioned north of Mallorca to have a clear view of the horizon for prime viewing of the eclipse at around 8.30pm in the evening on August 12.
The Mediterranean Sunset Eclipse cruise will also stop in Bastia, Calvi, Alghero, Mahon and have two full days at sea, before ending in Barcelona on August 13.
Jess Peterson, Windstar’s director of destination experiences and itinerary planning, said: “Eclipse cruises are popular because ships at sea can position for clear views.
“Our first cruise to coincide with the 2026 eclipse in Iceland sold out quickly.
“We then looked at our deployment plans to see what other ships we had nearby the path of totality and the Wind Spirit made sense.”
