Tourism Australia has opened applications for the mega fam trip, G’day Australia in Cairns in Queensland.
About 300 travel agents from around the world will take part in the gathering, which has evolved from the tourist board’s ‘Corroboree’ event.
The event will be held in partnership with Tourism and Events Queensland (TEQ) and with support from Tourism Tropical North Queensland (TTNQ).
The programme will include a three-day workshop and networking functions in Cairns where agents will meet with more 100 tourism operators from all over Australia.
They will also take part in a selection of day trips throughout Cairns and its surroundings and a four-night pre- or post-experience fam trip across the country, supported by Australia’s state and territory tourism organisations.
G’day Australia will take place between October 3-14 or October 6-18, depending on the chosen fam trip. The participation fee is AUD$550 (about £295) including flights.
Agents who have qualified as Aussie Specialists – having completed Tourism Australia’s online training programme – can meet Australian sellers in Cairns and join the fams.
All applications must be completed and submitted online by the application closing date May 19.
