Business ‘booming’ for Seaside Travel after opening of sixth shop

Seaside Travel owner Nicola Park has declared “business is booming” after a successful opening weekend of the agency’s sixth shop.

The store in Lanchester, Durham opened to the public on September 28, two months after Park decided to expand, and employs five members of staff.

Seaside Travel scooped small agency of the year award for Yorkshire, North Midlands & North East England at this year’s Agent Achievement Awards, which is where Park had a chance meeting with a friend who inspired her to open the sixth shop.

She told Travel Weekly the opening was a great success, and the new store feels “so Seaside”.

“It was very hectic leading up to [the opening] but the day was fantastic,” she said. “We had loads of locals and tour operators come in which felt great.

“Everybody loved the staff and the shop and it felt so natural to have a store in Lanchester.

“As the weekend went on it got busier and busier and we had such a busy Saturday so I’m chuffed to bits with it.

“Even though we’re going into a bit of a winter lull now, we didn’t feel it. Business is booming and lets hope it carries on.”

She added: “We’ll spend the winter catching up on training ready for the January boom. I can’t wait.”
