Classic Collection appoints Phil Shipman to consortia role

Former Travelsphere key account manager Phil Shipman has joined Classic Collection and Classic Package Holidays as strategic account director for consortia and new business.

Shipman had spent the last year as business development manager, trade, for Ikos and Sani Resorts, but confirmed the switch to Classic Collection in a Facebook post.

He said: “It’s been a whirlwind 12 months for everyone in this wonderful industry, myself included, but we will come back stronger.

“It’s now time for a new chapter I my career as I join Si [Morris-Green] and the amazing team at Classic Collection as the new strategic account manager for consortia.

“So excited to get started and reach out to industry contacts old and new as come out of the other side.”

Before joining Sani and Ikos last year, Shipman spent more than two years working for G Touring as key account manager for the central region for escorted touring brands Travelsphere and Just You.

He has previously held trade roles at Club Med and Cadogan Holidays, and was a business development manager for Global Travel Group.

Shipman’s appointment comes as part of a restructure at Classic, which include a promotion for Ali Bull, who becomes strategic account manage for homeworkers after seven years as account manager for the northeast, reporting in to strategic business development manager, Gemma Lazenby.
