The Specialist Travel Association (Aito) expects to have a further eight members on board this financial year as its growth plans start to come to fruition, chairman Chris Rowles has said.
Aito has already stated a target of 150 tour operator members by 2026. It currently has 98 operator members.
Rowles told members at the annual general meeting: “Aito is on the up. The growth to 150 members that we started to talk about three to four years ago is starting to happen.
“We anticipate another eight members by the end of this financial year so the growth is happening.”
Aito’s financial year runs to the end of August.
Rowles thanked members for putting their trust into the association, adding: “We must grow; we have to be a bigger organisation than we are now to give the services you want.”
Aito executive director Martyn Sumners said he was confident of reaching the target of 150 members in 2026 or 2027, adding there were more potential members “in the pipeline”.
