Club Med in the UK has reported a record launch for sales of winter 2023-24 holidays, despite the cost-of-living concerns.
Nicolas Bresch, UK and Nordics managing director at the all-inclusive resort specialist, said: “While the cost-of-living crisis continues to be front of mind, there is clearly still a huge appetite for Brits to plan and book holidays.
“Our winter 2023-24 preview sales opening last week was our highest-ever grossing preview, with sales revenue from this up 45% versus the same event in 2022.”
He said feedback from travel agent partners and clients indicated that people are seeking “to lock in the price of an all-inclusive holiday to avoid the hidden costs that are usually associated with travelling”.
“At Club Med, we are mindful of the impact that the current economic climate is having on our guests, which is why we have promised that the price of their stay will not change after their booking regardless of any currency fluctuations,” he added.
“Despite a warm start to the season, Brits are still eager to hit the slopes and from our 16 resorts across the Alps, our top-selling ones include the new Exclusive Collection resort, Val d’Isere, the new resort at Tignes, and Les Arcs Panorama.
“Given that this is looking to be the first full year free of travel restrictions and the need for testing since 2019, we’re optimistic that this will be the strongest year yet for Club Med.”
